Frederick Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning has been in business since 1918. We have provided AC repair along with quality residential plumbing, heating, and cooling to College Hill and neighborhoods across Wichita for more than a century.

College Hill is one of many wonderful Wichita neighborhoods, boasting historic homes, an active neighborhood association, and a spacious park always filled with residents walking dogs.

On a Tuesday afternoon in July of 2022, Frederick Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning came out to visit Donna, a customer who lives on S. Rutan, just a few blocks away from College Hill Park.

Donna was having an issue staying cool. Since she had relied upon our qualified team of HVAC techs for service in the past, she called on Fred again for this urgent air conditioning repair.

Quick Wichita AC Repair: “No Cool Call”

Perry, one of our most experienced air conditioning repair techs, went out to Donna’s home to handle her home’s broken cooling system just a few hours after her call into our office that Tuesday afternoon.

Perry checked the furnace blower operations and found all electrical normal capacitor functions were within range. He checked the refrigerant lines and found that there was no transfer of refrigerant.

Perry then went outside to check the condenser unit. He checked the electrical and found that there was no electric current to the contactor. Perry then checked the disconnect and saw that there was no electricity at the disconnect.

So, he went to check the breaker box and found that the breaker had been tripped. He went back out to check the electrical situation on the condenser and found that the capacitor was over range.  So, he checked the capacitor and decided it looked decent, having only normal wear.

With all the rest of the electrical components looking normal, Perry went to turn on the breaker and tried to start the unit condenser fan.  Perry saw that the compressor was reading high ohms, so he recommended to Donna that she needed a compressor replacement.

In total, Perry was able to get the job done in less than a couple of hours! Donna was able to have her air conditioning putting out col air again, making sure she would be cool and comfortable as we headed into the hottest part of the summer.
